Free Concert on the Lawn; The Barnstormers with the Rock Candy Cloggers
The Hampshire County Arts Council presents The Barnstormers with the Rock Candy Cloggers in a free concert on the lawn (indoor if rain) at The Potomac Center, 1 Blue St., Romney (follow hospital signs from Rt. 28 north). Bring blanket or lawn chair. Handicapped accessible. Refreshments available.
Tom Jolin and Slim Harrison teamed up as The Barnstormers in 1980 to perform traditional, old time, American folk music. Their toe-tapping, high-energy music is performed on hammer dulcimer, banjo, fiddle, harmonica, button accordion, guitar and vocals blending into unique, “old timey” harmonies and melodies. Both Slim and Tom make their own hammer dulcimers and banjos. Often they are joined, as they will be for this performance, by the award-winning Rock Candy Cloggers, adding dazzling footwork to The Barnstormers performances. Rock Howland and Candy Ranlet also play instruments; Candy string bass/concertina/jaws harp and Rock the fiddle. They have delighted Hampshire County audiences twice before.
